Eid, School, and BOOKS! Lots of them in fact...

School started, i haven't written a word in here ever since the first day of Eid, i barely wrote anything that day.

Starting with Eid. The first day was the same as every year, people come visit you in the morning, the men to be precise, and then after they leave at 11 am you go to sleep because you've been awake since 5 am. That day i slept until lunch at 4 pm, we had lunch with my grandparents. We waited until 7:30 pm to go on our own relatives' tour. After going to 4 or 5 houses, we got to the last house of that day, at 9 pm we went to our 2nd only descent mall in Irbid, with 5 of dad's cousins, i had fun, i went home at 12:45 am, which was  surprising, but awesome.

School. School started exactly the first Sunday after Eid, which was only 2 days after it, no breathers. The first day was normal, not as pleasant as i expected, but pretty normal. For one thing, 11th grade is going to be a hell of a ride, specially when it comes to the people i am going to share a classroom with for a whole school year, and that might be stuck with the next year. The school practically stuffed us from 10th grade in two classrooms, last year there were 3 classrooms, and this year a lot of girls transferred, one of them is one of my best friends, thanks to her transfer school sucked even more. it didn't sucks, it sucks! Most of my friends are in the other class, yay.  I just figured i'd endure it, and concentrate on studying.
The books were twice the size they are now, until i split them in half

As for BOOKS, i finished reading Thanks for the Memories for Cecelia Ahern 3 week ago, and i started reading Dan Brown's the Lost Symbol, a nice change, keeps you reading for hours and hours. I've always loved Cecelia's books, they always relate you to something in real life, every time i read something about someone in one of her books i remember something about my family or my friends or my school.

Ramadan, Ramadan, Ramadan...

Haven't been here for a while, a week of Ramadan has passed, and it hasn't been that hard, last year the weather was hotter so it was harder, but this year is pretty good. and the BEST part is the food looks good every day!
Cinnamon Rolls made by my brother. i know, weird.
So, the camera's battery is empty, and the charger is somewhere else, not lost, just "misplaced", and i can't take decent pictures of my finished crochet stuff, I've made two amigurumi animals, a cat and a teddy bear, and i think that's a big achievement for a newbie. I've also finished a garland for my room, pink and green, and i am working on a set of cup coasters, maybe a gift for somebody.
Have you been reading anything lately? Yeah, Girls of Riyadh , and i am about to finish it!!!
Unfinished Garland
First amigurumi finished projects
One thing i want more than anything right now is to go somewhere other than where i am right now. i want to go to Italy, or France, or New York, you know the normal far away dream-lands for anyone who's never been on more than a 4-hour flight.

Cell Phone Cozy

This is what i made today, thanks to THIS brilliant tutorial. Anything fits in there, i could use it for either my phone or iPod, and it's not that hard to make. ;)

I also tried something a little more challenging today from 150 Crochet Trims book, the "Elegant Petals" motif, i was pretty proud of myself when i finished it, because it drove me a bit cray with picots.
I really need to go shopping, i don't have one ball of yarn big enough to make anything but motifs, and you need something to put the motif on. We're going to Jerash today for BBQ, can't wait, because i didn't have breakfast yet, and i'm so hungry.

Back to Writing

I am re-writing the story I wrote for the first competition almost five months ago. The story was really bad, it has some sort of mystery, but it was too long, I mean it was 22 pages. I re-read it, and found in almost every paragraph something wrong and sort of out of place. Hope the new one turns out well.

This. Is. Amazing.

So i just saw this teaser for Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol Trailer, and the one thing i pretty much freaked out about was the Dubai scenes, i am simply just doing to watch the movie because of the Burj, and everything else.

I Need: the Top (obviously)
I Want: the Ballerina Flats
I Have: the H&M Bracelet (it's actually one braid, not a set, with charms all over it, i have it in Beige)

Taylor Swift and the Sweater

Favorite Wildfox Tops

And now to my music obsessions, i heard Selena Gomez's new song, "Bang Bang Bang", i really don't understand it and i can't seem to put up with hearing it, and the other new one, "I Love You Like a Love Song" is just pure boring, i mean i like Selena, she's funny and all, but the songs this time are not too good, right now it's just "Who Says".

I am obsessed with Coldplay's new single, "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall", i LOVE it.

I miss my journal

The last time i went to UAE was in February i think. when i was there i did A LOT of shopping, and not just for clothes, i got this journal that shows on the outside Barquq, Gates of Cairo. I started writing in it when i was there, i kept at it until i got to Jordan, there was just nothing that interesting going on because i got back to school, and really the only thing that was interesting at that time was either a quiz or a graded quiz, and i hated writing about those things, because it just brings out the worst memories of studying, and mostly the things the made me go crazy. i began writing again from time to time, every two weeks, or whenever something worth remembering happened. up until now, i haven;t written in it since June 3rd, which is very sad if you ask me. So hopefully, i'll get back to writing again, i have nothing else to do but eat, dance, and watch movies.

Kebabs in Jerash!

So yesterday was almost packed, we went to a restaurant in Jerash for lunch, it's called "Al-Wadi Al-Akhdar" (The Green Valley). It serves one of the tastiest grilled meals ever in Jordan, there are other places that maybe are a little better, but this one felt just most familiar. My grandfather usually takes us there every summer at least twice, and we absolutely love it.
Jerash, click on picture to know more!

I took some pictures with my iPod, the quality is not too good, but i tried to fix it,but i couldn't get any of the ruins, because the car was moving a bit too fast.

And that was pretty much it, when i got home i watched Salt, it was good, involved a lot of hitting, punching and running, but it was good, then late at night i watched something a  bit less extreme, Ramona and Beezus. even though i don't have a sister, i love the movie, i cried my eyes out yesterday (it's funny because i do that in every movie when someone is about to leave someone else, or when someone or something dies), mostly i cried because the cat died, i cry on animals in movies more that i do on people.

DONE with 10th grade!

Yes, my summer started last Sunday. I feel VERY relieved now that I’m done with 10th grade, that was pretty much the highlight of my whole week. How was my year? well, 10th grade was pretty much the worst year of my life, and it's not only because I was studying my ass off, it didn't have as many complications as any other year, but it did REALLY suck.

One of the reasons was because in 10th grade you feel like a lot of people just leave, it was the most time I missed some my friends, a lot of people transferred  to other school, which is really saying something, because my school is not that bad, there were new kids, my best friend was only with me for a semester and not even in the same classroom. but in advance I did make new friends, I got closer to people I never thought I’d be friends with, I found out who was real and who was just pure fake, and for the first time in my life I felt like I was part of a group.

I had a few not-too-bad experiences, I applied for 2 English writing competitions, the first one was really bad, I just went to school like it was any other day, and next thing you know is that my teacher’s telling me I have to go now for the competition. The “short story” wasn’t really short at all, my story was 22 pages long, my teacher hadn’t even finished editing it, there were more mistakes in it with coordination that grammar, so I went. But the day was fun, I spent the day with my friends, I didn’t take any classes at all that day, and I got to miss 2 quizzes (which apparently I was about to retake in two days after).

The second competition wasn’t as bad, it was actually really good. The story was 4 pages long, and that time the teacher did edit the thing and helped make it better, and in the end me and another girl who applied with a poem got to go to an honoring party or something like that, they chose the two of us which was very awesome, because the very person I hated applied for the competition but she didn’t go with us.

Other than competitions, nothing was really at all that interesting, I was supposed to be in an art gallery at school (for my crochet work, yeah it looks like it’s something only grandmas would do, but it was fun), but the teacher said I had to show up and work in front of the students. I didn’t have the time to go, we were preparing for the finals, and I really had a lot on my plate at the time.

Something else on the “paint things new and bright” list of my year was that I got a new iPod touch 4th generation, which is awesome if you ask me, I just love it, and I’m getting obsessed with Apple more and more now.

Maybe 10th grade wasn’t as bad as I said it was, the year wasn’t entirely good, but I survived, the crappy things were related to studying and a very, very, very bitchy friend, who is not a friend anymore. Ever thought about someone that just makes wanna beat the crap of something, or THEM?! When you hear their voice you just want to slit their throat open?! Well, in that whole year, only one person (shockingly!) got that honor.
